When microwaving vegetables, there are definitely a few things to consider:

  • Moisture – Unless your food comes in liquid, always add some to your bowl or use a wet paper towel to keep it covered during the microwave process. 
  • Cover – Always cover your food for more evenly distributed heat circulation. This will ensure that the food is cooked equally, all the way through.
  • Time – Each microwave operates slightly differently. Generally, intermittent heating in 1-2 minute increments with a resting period results in a better texture.
